AMBASSADOR Program INFORMATION
LEAD + BUILD + GROW
Our incredible LGBTQ Outdoors Ambassadors are the all-volunteer frontline of our community, combining a passion for the outdoors with the leadership skills needed to guide Local Chapters and foster inclusive outdoor experiences. Even if there is already an Ambassador in your area, we encourage you to apply—many regions have thriving LGBTQIA+ communities that can benefit from additional leadership.
Ambassador Responsibilities
Ambassadors play a crucial role in advancing our mission. Here’s what the role entails:
Passion & Advocacy – Embody a love for the outdoors and actively promote LGBTQ Outdoors' mission.
Leadership & Integrity – Serve as a role model with professionalism and inclusivity.
Event Hosting – Organize at least one event every other month (more if desired).
Commitment – Serve as an Ambassador for at least one year, with the option to continue in good standing.
Community Building – Help recruit and support additional Ambassadors in your area.
Inclusivity – Foster a welcoming environment for all LGBTQIA+ individuals.
Engagement & Moderation – Moderate your State Facebook group and engage with the community.
Annual Release Form – Submit an Ambassador Release Form each year.
Event Costs & Support
Local events are free for attendees, though donations are encouraged to support our mission. Ambassadors are not responsible for personal expenses such as kayak rentals or park entry fees—we rely on donations and sponsorships to keep events running smoothly.
