Our 2nd annual kayak camping trip on Umbagog Lake! Umbagog Lake straddles the border of New Hampshire and Maine near the town of Errol.
There is parking there and firewood available to purchase. Kayaks can also be rented for the weekend, but it's recommended that you be a stronger paddler for this trip. Our site this year is further out and across the Maine border. This is NOT a beginner kayak event.
Join us for a two night kayak camping adventure! Enjoy paddling around a lake quietly and unobtrusively observing loons and other wildlife –- capturing beautiful photos of water flora and other plants that grow along the water’s edge. Eagle sightings are likely! Kayak camping is luxury backpacking, but more rustic than car camping. Our site can handle up to 16 people and has an outhouse. There are no other facilities, and the site it accessibly only by boat. There is a shuttle that will haul your stuff out to the site and back for a fee.
Our plan is to explore the lake on Sunday, so if you shuttle out, you won't be able to join us, but you can hang out at the site all day and relax.
Registration has closed for this event.
