We will help new outdoors people feel empowered to assist with basic medical scenarios that may happen in the Alaska wilderness, and understand how to call for higher help if needed. We will also discuss building first aid kits and what are some ways to choose what goes in them. This will be a great opportunity to connect with other LGBTQ+ folks to plan summer adventures!

We will be attending an event organized by the Alaska Rock Gym.
Perfect for both new and experienced climbers that are a part of the LGBTQIA+ community and its allies. Come socialize and improve your climbing! Expect a brief fitness room/yoga warm up followed by instruction in both the bouldering area and in the roped area.
Climbers new to our facility should arrive 20 minutes before class starts to receive an orientation

Join LGBT+ Outdoors for a day of skiing at Kincaid Park!
Whether you prefer classic cross-country skiing or skate skiing, this event is open to skiers of all levels. We’ll explore the scenic trails around Kincaid and split into groups to accommodate different trail difficulties.
Whether you’re looking for an easy glide or a more challenging route, there’s something for everyone.

We will have a fire and some hot chocolate, but bring a camp chair and things to share if you want to!
Bring your own skates. They can be purchased for cheap at The Hoarding Marmot, Play It Again Sports, or Nordic Ice Skates can be rented from AMH.

It’s the Alaska Chapter’s first event!
We will snowshoe to explore and forge our own trail around the Independence Mine in Hatcher Pass.
It will be a fun way to get some exercise, explore beautiful views and historic buildings, and connect with other LGBT Outdoors-people! :)
